Dr. John Bernard

Dr. John Bernard is a native of Oakland and a product of the Oakland schools. In January of 2008, Dr. Bernard announced
his retirement after more than 38 years in public education, most recently as a school superintendent in Alameda County. When
Dr. Bernard became aware that the District 3 County Board incumbent was not seeking reelection, John Bernard wanted to submit
his name as a candidate for the vacant position, and to give back to the Oakland community by bringing his many years of successful
leadership experience to the County Board trustee position. Dr. John Bernard is endorced by many
elected officials, current and former county superintendents, current and former county board trustees, district superintendents,
teachers, parents and students. By voting for JOHN BERNARD you
are: • helping to improve the financial oversight and assistance to local districts • helping
to improve the county's juvenile justice school and their achievement • helping to regain community trust
in the county office of education You can email John Bernard at john.bernard2008@yahoo.com,
or call him at 510-547-1546.
